Audi is most popular luxurious manufacturers among all automobile systems in Germany. They produce one of the famous cars in the world, Audi Cars.
The company’s founder is August Horch and its origin can be traced to 1899. August Horch had some issues with this firm so the founder was forced to leave the company. Soon he established his own company with his own name. He was again forced but this time, to remove the family name in his automobile company. Then he had put the name as “Audi” for his company which means Latin to listen.
Audi History
They started with Audi 2612 cc (were mostly used in sporting events) first and increased the efficiency more and more. Therefore, the brand of cars started developing over time and now you are seeing that whole world of cars being manufactured by Audi.
Auto Union
When Audi had collaboration with DKW, Horch and Wanderer, an Auto Union was formed. The Audi Badge that we see today had produced by this Union and was used in Auto Racing Cars with various brand names. In the Second World War, these engines were used by Germany and also Kraftfahrzeug (KFZ 11) or the Horch Type 80 were used which was again used by the military.
Audi Logo
Audi logo has four overlapping rings to represent the four marques of Auto Union. These logo shows the fact that they are merged with DKW, Horch and Wanderer. The logo is crafted beautifully, the first ring represents Audi, the second one represents DKW, third one represents Horch, and the fourth and last ring represents Wanderer.
Earlier Times
When Volkswagen renamed their brand as Audi then Audi 72, 75 brands were invented. Until models from Audi 60, 70, 80 and Super 90 were developed in 1972 and they came again in the picture very strongly.
One more member NSU which was one of the world’s largest producers of motorcycles had entered the Auto Union in 1969.
Audi had emerged as a really competitive brand after 1970, means years after the Second World War. In the post 1970 era, it was first introduced in the United States.
The brand Audi 100 had entered in 1968 which was followed by the name of Audi 80/Fox and Audi 50 in 1974. In those days Audi 50 was very popular which was invented on the basis of the Golf/Polo concept and it was a successful in all over the world because of its unique design.
The companies like the Auto Union and NSU fell and Audi came to be known as Audi AG in1985. The Audi 80 brand was developing a very unique model which was popularly called as the Grandfather’s Image in 1986.
The sales of the model Audi 80 declined in Early 1990s because of some basic construction problems which were not like by the buyers.
But sales went up again in the mid-1990s because of a new model A4 in 1996 and the subsequent releases of the models like A4/A6/A8 series, which was developed in collaboration with VW and other sister brands of that time. So, numbers of cars were coming from Audi.
At last, if we are talking about today then we are glad to inform you that even today their sales are in the skies and it is touching new heights day by day.
