Smartbook AG unveils $3,000 Swarovski-laden netbook

Posted by Yogesh Kumar On November - 30 - 2009

Smartbook AGDo you know? The word “Smartbook” goes these days in a new round, as the German company wants to argue with that name is now internationally their rights. So, Smartbook AG has found a new way to get our attention. A “smartbook” has introduced the Zenid GC Crystal which is one of the most common Chinese ODM netbooks.

The S40 carries the following:

•    10.2-inch WXGA LED screen
•    1.6GHz Intel Atom N280
•    2GB DDR2 RAM
•    WiFi and so on

We can also get a non-crystal version for just 299 euros but really, we want to go ridiculously lavish here and that is precisely where the Crystal variant does not disappoint.

After such a long series of expensive laptops and gaming systems put, now it is calculated netbooks that a person wants to assert itself in the market. So, have a look with me at the products sold by the Smartbook AG “throwing Smart Books”. The company is offering the absolute mass model of 10-inch class in the Chinese market, where the term carries the S40. There is still a 12-inch model in the offer in addition that already reached a nice attempt at a MacBook Air clone to prominence.

The product is completely encrusted in Swarovski crystals, the price jumps to 2,001 euros or $3,000 approximately in currency from across the pond.

I hope you would like the product.

Sony PSPs enlisted out by Royal Navy as study aides

Posted by Abhyudaya Tripathi On November - 30 - 2009

Sony PSPsIt was at Sony HQ that decided to pursue “military contracts” as a revenue source. The US Air Force expressed their interest in expanding its PS3 supercomputer. The Britannia’s Royal Navy, which is glorious, has conscripted 230 PlayStation Portable (PSP) into duty as revision aids for its trainee sailors.

The Sony PSPs is loaded with physics and maths materials. It can be used in a bunk, has familiar controls for the young and mostly for male recruits and are considered pretty tough to break. Actually, cost cutting is the reason for this move. The Royal Navy is saving on teaching time by making the training course more intensive.

It is given that the UMD drive won’t come disabled and which is to encourage the sailors to take care of the device better. The future this paints is of marines who have spent extra time with a freebie handheld console than with a pro instructor. They will have a good stable of captured monsters at least to show for it.

The Royal Navy has begun handing out Sony PSPs consoles to sea bound servicemen in the confined conditions of a warship, to help them study for exams. These pocket devices have been kitted-out with specially-designed programmes made-up of commentaries and slides to allow sailors to swat-up from the relative comfort of a bunk bed. With around 230 dished out at a cost of £50,000, Marine warfare engineering technicians were the first to get the consoles and a space-saving operation. So, commanding officers believe that the consoles will provide much more incentive to study.

This idea was developed at HMS Collingwood in Hampshire by the maritime warfare school and if successful, it will see more PSPs distributed among the fleet.

I wish this Sony PSPs would work very well.

The Olympus Pen E-P1 gets Swarovski crystals

Posted by Yogesh Kumar On November - 26 - 2009

All reach folks must be aware of  well-known gadget Crystol Roc’s Swarovski-studded Olympus Pen E-P1 digi-cam those who are lovers for bling. Though Crystal Roc is famous for sparkling up any instrument that comes its way and slapping on Swarovski crystals to the Olympus E-P1 does not make it look any more desirable. It won’t be so easy to get your hands on, because it is only available at Harrods’ Micro Anvika department in the UK.

Crystol Roc’s Swarovski-studded Olympus Pen E-P1The Olympus Pen E-P1 has taken by Swarovski and is bejeweled with their traditional crystal gems. All over a camera, spreading tiny gems is not exactly traditional but the jewels combined with the already retro-look of the E-P1 is downright bizarre. I think it would work for some personalities and it is cute in a kitchy way.

Over the sticker price, you have the disposable cash to pay a $2,000 premium. This “blinged” camera comes with two lenses, a flash and a wooden box for only $3,302 (£1999.99). You should buy it no matter how sexy this camera is. But I think you should wait until the upcoming E-P2 glamorized by a whole bunch of Swarovski crystals.

Do you think that people would still want to get the E-P1 with the Olympus E-P2 just around the corner? Some people think that it will be in demand, especially when it is glamorized by Swarovski crystals. You have to come out with $3,302 (£1999.99) to get this shiny camera. A regular Pen E-P1 is just more than half that price.

So, what do you think of the flashy look on this camera?

McLaren F1 LM model is Amazing but very Expensive

McLaren F1 LM

You know an incentive could push Lewis Hamilton to keep up his winning stride. So, you should think of the McLaren F1 LM, if you could think of an incentive worth $4 million being promised by Ron Dennis, McLaren CEO for winning two Formula One World Championship titles. UK-based Amalgam Fine Collection sells the most detailed model collectible cars that I have ever seen. Looking through the photos on their website of this 1/8th scale McLaren F1 LM, it is very difficult to tell it is actually a model at times.

If McLaren is not your thing then the other high performance sports cars appear to be available from the Ferrari Enzo, to the Bugatti Veyron, to Aston Martins. But what’s the price? Well the McLaren model pictured above sells for £3,250, or just over $5,300, making it seem like a real bargain when compared to the real thing.

The McLaren F1 LM is as the ultimate derivative of the ultimate road going supercar. The new LM version of the F1 is actually a modified McLaren F1 GTR for road going use. From the standard F1, major differences are:

The F1 LM includes the features:

•    The 1995 GTR engine without air restrictors
•    Its 18 inch magnesium wheels 76kgs lighter than the standard F1.
•    Upgraded gearbox and aerodynamics

Like a tribute to Bruce McLaren, all 5 LMs were painted Papaya Orange, the same color used on his Formula One and Can Am racecars.

The F1 Lm with a run off 11.5 seconds recently broke the 0-100-0 mph time, streching 828 feet.

So, I hope you would like the new model of the F1 with a new color.

MJ’s white glove: The big seller at the rock ‘n’ roll Auction

Posted by Kamleshwar Bhatt On November - 24 - 2009

FILE USA JACKSON GLOVE SALEIt’s Amazing and does not get bigger than this. There hundreds of rock ‘n’ roll items were up for the grabs in rock and roll auction at the New York City on Saturday. But just imagine Michael Jackson’s famous white glove that was among several items owned by Michael Jackson, was the night’s big seller for $350,000, soaring far past pre-sale estimates. The buyer was Hong Kong businessman Hoffman Ma.

Other items of MJ on sale included a car driven by MJ and the black, strap and zipper-laden jacket which he wore during a 1989 world “Bad” tour fetched $225,000.

CEO of Julien’s Auctions who ran the auction, Darren Julien, referred the glove as “the Holy Grail of Michael Jackson,” and many of them expected it to sell for far more than its pre-sale estimate of about $50,000. The final price excluding taxes ran to around $420,000.

Michael Jackson had worn the white glove during his first staged the famous moonwalk dance at the 1983 Motown 25 television special. Before peaking at $350,000, the opening bid of $10,000 leaped immediately to $120,000.

The auctioneer said that most of MJ 80 items came from family and friends, to whom Jackson had given them. Michael Jackson was a collector himself, having paid more than $1.5 million for the “Gone With the Wind” best picture Oscar statue at Sotheby’s auction which was one of the highest prices ever paid for memorabilia at auction.

At $80,000 to $100,000, the auction house had valued the Michael collection. But Julien said those pre-auction estimates were intentionally conservative to help create interest. Many of Michael’s items sold for 10 or even more than 20 times the estimates.

Jackson has died but his amazing items still make us feel that MJ is alive.
