The Naked Sportbike that currently has entrants from the likes of Aprilia, Ducati and BMW, is about to get injection of Japanese know-how as Yamaha readies its upcoming new 2010 FZ8 for production. Yamaha seemingly sees room for a machine that splits the difference between the full FZ1 naked literbike and the smaller FZ6 (and FZ6R).
As I am not sure that Yamaha has not confirmed either the FZ8 or its fully-faired FZ8R sibling for North America (I will let you know the truth), but it may possible the models could make it Stateside if there is enough interest that’s why I am showing you this initial official image of the FZ8 from the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer. So, what is your opinion?
You can judge from this recent picture that the new Yamaha FZ8 appears to be based on the current FZ1 and rumors suggest the 800cc mill will be a downsized version of the ex-R1 engine with smaller bore and an identical stroke.
The official unveiling of Yamaha FZ8 is scheduled for March 12. I will let you know very soon but till then you just enjoy the teaser.
