Kia has announced pricing for its new Sorento SUV just ahead of its January arrival in dealerships across the country. The base price of the base model Kia Sorento is $19,995 without including a destination charge of $795. While you may get a fully-loaded all-wheel drive model by $28,895.
The all-new Kia Sorento is a bit larger than other outgoing model and gains a third-row seat as the car moves to Hyundai’s Santa Fe unitbody platform. The new Sorento takes a fuel efficient route and gets Hyundai’s new Theta II 2.4-liter 4 cylinder motor, generates 169 lb-ft of torque and 175 horsepower.
Also a V6 model will be available, using a 248 pound-feet and a 3.5-liter V6 good for 276 horsepower. In favor of the new six-speed automatic found in the Veracruz, both models will drop the current five-speed transmission. For European consumers, a 2.0-liter diesel will also be available.
The latest Sorento’s tough looking exterior will add crisper lines and more modern look. The Sorento wears Kia’s new signature grille surround, flanked by new-look, attractive headlights in up front. Integrated dual exhaust outlets give the Sorento an up-scale look around back. The two-wheel-drive variant has lower weight and raise fuel economy.
At Kia’s West Point, Georgia, production has already begun plant with sales slated to kick off next month.
