Most electric bikes are sordid affairs, just more than an ordinary bicycle with a strap-on battery pack, a motorized hub and regenerative braking capabilities. But this HMK 561 electric bicycle concept took home an iF Design Award for some seriously forward thinking. HMK 561 electric bike

HMK 561 electric bicycle is not only the stylish forward rake of this juiced cruiser that is innovative, it is the frame composed completely of a conductive carbon fiber weave which allows the bike’s body to not just pass electricity to the motors, but store it like a giant capacitor.

Factor in integrated lights and a pinch of that regenerative braking at each axle and you will just get the bicycle of your dream.

“Fracircle” concept use architectural framework in automotive design

Posted by Kamleshwar Bhatt On March - 11 - 2010

fracircle-concept-carAs we want to see environmentally friendly concepts to increase their presence in the future, we are ready to see a hyper rise in concepts that makes sure to minimize our carbon footprint.  A fourth-year student of vehicle engineering, Zhilei Chen at Wuhan University of Technology has developed the “Fracircle” concept in which the architectural framework has applied in automotive design.

An independent suspension cockpit used in Fracircle that buys its shape from the crystal clear water drop, gives a fresh and close to nature appeal to the concept. Fracircle’s unique ability to absorb solar energy, vibrational energy and wind energy as its power source makes the Fracircle categorically interesting to us.

The concept hinting toward the emission reduction and maximum energy-saving is purely a design study at this point, but I wish it can give competition to the best production road cars. Good luck Chen!

odyssey-water-vehicleIf you are looking for something to improve present transportation’s competence then your search has been completed here as there is a new concept of  water vehicle designed by Jacky Wu.

The Odyssey Water Vehicle
is an eco-friendly concept vehicle in which a battery-powered electric motor is used to power its propeller through water. It combines a unique design with great choice of material that creates a special and sophisticated setting around the vehicle.

The batteries of this vehicle can be recharged by connecting the craft to a power source or by activating the wind turbine sails. The vehicle uses a catamaran-style hull to reduce the power needs and to discourage drag.

Cadillac conquering the European Automotive Market

Cadillac-Europe

At General Motors, those folks holding the reins are really a funny bunch. They launch some grand scheme to enter Europe’s competitive luxury automotive market with their Cadillac brand.

After GM’s latest fiasco with Kroymans, a Dutch distributor before declaring bankruptcy last year, sold Cadillacs in Europe the U.S. automaker will now open its own company, called “Cadillac Europe” that will import, distribute and market a selected range of models specified for the European market.

Cadillac general manager, Bryan Nesbitt says that “Europe is an important market for Cadillac and re-establishing distribution of our premium offerings is good news for those who seek import exclusiveness”

This is correct that most of the Europeans have associated Cadillac’s “import exclusiveness” with products like the now discontinued BLS that was a re-skined Saab 9-3 which in turn was heavily based on the Opel Vectra.

Cadillac will definitely give Europeans a taste of their latest products including the CTS Coupe at the Geneva Motor Show, that is going to arrive in North American showrooms this summer and this fall in Europe and the new CTS Sport Sedan, CTS Sport Wagon, the range-topping 556HP CTS-V, the SRX crossover and the “oh so European” Escalade Hybrid.

Nothing can say right now on any diesel or displacement gasoline engines. But we can say that Cadillacs will continue to be a more rare sight on European roads.
