This ZMP’s new RoboCar G car is a aone-seater electric vehicle (EV) developed by the Next-gen EV Study Group at Gunma University and that will be available on a limited basis starting in November 2010.  The vehicle will be able to be equipped with a whole range of sensors that will either help the driver or let it be operated as a computer-controlled “robot vehicle.”

Cadillac general manager, Bryan Nesbitt says that “Europe is an important market for Cadillac and re-establishing distribution of our premium offerings is good news for those who seek import exclusiveness”

IBM launched a new breed of thin-film cells which are 40% more efficient than previous prototypes, while the University of Michigan announced the world’s smallest solar-powered sensor, which measure a scant 9 cubic millimeters.

Finally, I was flat-out by Porsche’s latest supercar- a 911 hybrid that will be taking on the competition this May at the 24 hour Nürburgring race. The vehicle is based on the tried-and-true 911 platform but features some race-ready tricks under the hood: a kinetic energy recovery system and front wheel hybrid drive that stores braking energy in a flywheel that delivers a 160hp boost of speed with the press of a button.

The Tajima EV is designed by Tajima Motor looks like a formula car weighs around 300kgs using steel tube space frame and resin bathtub like body and is capable of traveling up to 25km with a 40Ah lead battery at a speed of 40km/h and about 90km with a 120Ah lithium polymer battery.

It has a motor output of 0.59KW, delivered to the rear wheels via a drive belt that can be powered by lead or lithium polymer batteries delivering ranges of 90km (lithium battery costs $5500 USD) or 25km (lead battery costs $2500 USD).
