Do you know what the value of $80 is for you these days? You can have Menq’s EasyPC E790 netbook in $80. This Menq EasyPC E790 is only using Windows CE 5.0 for the sake of this hands-on. Menq will be pushing out an Android firmware update within a month. You saw last year the successor to the $89 E760 and that is still include a Samsung ARM processor, the 7-inch display’s resolution to 800 x 480 and the techvideoblog’s Charbax hands-on shows can do a great job of handling Skype, DivX files and browsing.
This Menq EasyPC E790 does not exactly set any speed records since there is an ARM9 processor at its core. It is a nice experience but Android might make a difference once that is installed instead.
From the manufacturer, there is a promise that Android is coming in the next month but I guess you would be happy to stick with Windows CE. The nice thing about the product is its price i.e. $80. In later iterations, Charbax also expects the ARM Cortex A8 to make more of an appearance and while that may add $10-20 or so to the price tag.
I hope most of you would appreciate the extra lick of speed.
