I have gone crazy when I heard that the world’s first built-in projector, the Nikon Coolpix S1000pj compact with the integrated digital projector camera was announced to enable you to share view images and videos with the touch of a button up to 40 inches in size from 6.6 feet distance.
This camera would be useful for slide show presentations complete with music, effects and transitions, given a resolution output of 640×480 VGA but this is not for projecting very high-definition videos.
Features of the Nikon Coolpix S1000pj compact digital projector camera:

- 5X optical zoom lens with five-way VR Image Stabilization System
- 12.1-megapixel sensor ISO 6400 sensitivity
- A 2.7-inch LCD in back
- Scene Auto Selector Mode
- VGA 30 FPS movie mode with sound

- Nikon’s Smart Portrait System and movie mode
This Nikon Coolpix S1000pj digital camera uses a lithium ion battery and SD/SDHC memory cards. It also features Nikon’s Smart Portrait system with smile, face, redeye removal, blink detection and skin softening.
In September 2009, the Nikon Coolpix S1000pj projector camera will be available in Matte black at a price of $429.95.
Nikon has also launched the Nikon Coolpix S70, S640 and S570. The Nikon Coolpix S70 comes without the built-in projector, has the similar specs as the Nikon Coolpix S1000 pj projector camera, except for an OLED touch screen.
