I have never expected that the combination of two different skill sets could result in masterpieces. But Jaeger-LeCoultre and Aston Martin have proved it as the tie-ups between the motoring world and horology have brought chronographs that have never seen before.
The three latest watches resulting from tie-ups are:
Jaeger-LeCoultre and Aston Martin
The new product from the strategic partnership between Aston Martin and Jaeger-LeCoultre is the AMVOX3 Tourbillon GMT, just 300 examples of which will be made. In it sits the automatic Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 988 tourbillon movement, driving two time-zone displays. The most remarkable is the openworked dial that gives a full view of the ruthenium-coated bridges and baseplate.
EDOX and Koenigsegg
The latest Edox Koenigsegg Chronograph is the result of another partnership between sportscar and watchmaker manufacturer. The pair of hinged ‘doors’ is the outstanding feature of this timepiece that protect the crown- imitating the design of the Koenigsegg CCR sportscar. Only 30 of these handmade Edox-Koenigseggs will be produced at the price of £13,500.
Hublot and the Automobile Club de France
With the oldest automobile club in the world, Hublot has formed an allegiance to create a limited-edition women’s and men’s watch, a ‘drive’ chronograph in the colors of the legendary ACF. The skeleton dial launches a section of the movement which is surrounded by a black ceramic case and bezel.
