The Palm Pixi has officially announced that it will be coming to Sprint this holiday season. Palm with the new handset offers five artist-designed back covers in the “Palm Pixi Artist Series” just like Zune Originals and Dell’s Design Studio laptops that can be purchased separately. Touchstone owners those backs and a separate black backing: take words that you will also pay extra for, are all compatible with the accessory.
Palm Pixi includes:
• 2 megapixel camera
• With 8GB of storage onboard
• Phone will hit shelves sans-WiFi
• 2.63-inch
• A full QWERTY keyboard
• A ringer on / off switch
• 320 x 400 capacitive display
• 3.5mm headphone jack
• a removable 1150mAh battery
The body of the phone is very small and is just 0.43-inches thick. If we talk about the hardware, Palm will be introducing a native Facebook app when the Pixi hits and a new LinkedIn and Yahoo! integration for Synergy. Still no date has been set for its launch but the phone will be ready till these holidays with its entry point of $149.99. The QWERTY keyboard on the Pixi was also a bit of a shocker and the keys are tiny and tightly spaced, it is definitely usable. The Pixi’s keyboard has a more tactile click than that of the Pre, and honestly, I might have liked the Pixi’s variation better.
So, you just clean your Palm to hold Pixi!
