I am not expecting the hit of the BlackBerry Onyx 9700 in the market before November, but at least a few units have hit the wild and these are the photos I have seen.
The BlackBerry Onyx is designed with a high-gloss black finish and leather grain on the back. Sporting features like Wi-Fi calling, high-speed 3G Web browsing, visual voicemail and also provide support for personal and corporate e-mail options. They are sure that the Onyx mobile will fulfill all your on-the-go needs. The Onyx comes preloaded with mobile applications from BlackBerry App World which includes Amazon MP3 store for easy and quick music downloads as well as TeleNav GPS Navigator.
BlackBerry Onyx 9700’s features are:
• 3G support
• a 3.2-megapixel camera with flash
• a 3.5mm jack
• Wi-Fi with UMA support
• A MicroSD slot
The Onyx will also support Wi-Fi calling or UMA. I have noticed that T-Mobile is still using the name “Onyx” because RIM has not made the device official yet, but this is indeed the BlackBerry Bold 9700 that I predicted would be coming to T-Mobile.
T-Mobile said it is planning to launch the device before the end of 2009. Until early November, the new information was under embargo so we can expect an official announcement around that time.
