I came to know today that the leading videogame peripherals manufacturer, Nyko Technologies announced that their new Charge Base IC for the Nintendo Wii has shipped to stores. The company has distribution through major Canadian and U.S retailers, along with distributors worldwide.
Nyko has just launched its latest charging base for Wii controllers. This new unit makes use of induction charging; therefore you can dispense with the sleeves and onto the dock for charging, just throw your Wands straight or contollers. The controller is attached to the dock via magnets, and also boasts a USB port for charging up other devices. With two battery covers, the Nyko Charge base comes which is compatible with both Wiimotes and Nyko’s own Wands and two rechargeable battery packs.
For the Wii, the Charge Base IC is Nyko’s first induction charging dock. The Charge Base IC utilizes induction technology to charge your controllers instead of using metal contact points to recharge the Wand’s batteries or Wii Remote.
The Charge Base IC also includes the features like:
• A powered USB port that can be used for charging other devices
• Two magnetic battery
• Two rechargeable battery packs
Director of marketing at Nyko Technologies, Chris Arbogast, said that since the Wii unleashed their charging docks for Wii controllers have been their most popular items among consumers. They have improved upon their original model with the Charge Base IC’s induction technology as well as magnetic cradle to offer us the stylish and the most convenient charging solution for the Wii.
So, this Charge Base IC is available now at Costco and Amazon.com for $39.99, this will soon be available at all major retailers.
