I am willing to see what’s new in Wacom’s new DJ device which is most probably going to launch on September 18th in Japan for 169,800 ($1,796) and September 25th in Europe. Wacom is known for its graphic tablet and now launching a new nexbeat NXT-1000 stand-alone DJ device that would feel right at home in a mockup spacecraft console (think Starfleet, not NASA). Wacom took its first step onto a new branch with the NXT-1000, an all-in-one DJ device. This nextbeat is coming with two digital player, an effector and a mixer. It also has a sampler in the wireless portable control unit. It supports MP3, AIFF, WAV and AAC-LC digital formats.
NXT-1000 product is designed mainly for professional DJs. We have plenty of these in this world but I found a difference by one of its unique feature i.e it has a touch-sensitive controller (for jogging, pitching and playing samples), buttons and scratchpad that I can detach from the main unit and carry with myself around the club, showing off my beat smithing skills away from the booth and I can assume that I have wireless headphones, also. This nextbeat is a fully integrated DJ system with live performance functions and touch sensor controls. The wireless compact unit can move free from the main device for “more dynamic as well as energetic live performances”.
The Wacom’s NXT-1000 looks like a wonderful controller for budding beat matchers. And also a whole host of twiddly buttons to tweak sounds, also includes a mixer with a sampler, 3-band EQ and an LCD panel to queue up effects.
The Wacom’s nextbeat NXT-1000 will be available in end of Summer 2009 and will be available in Europe and Japan with more expected details later this month so you just stay tuned.
